Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp, Machine Quilting
Apple Crisp Red Ribbon - Adult
One of my friends began a quilt from this pattern and I couldn’t resist making this one. It is a scrap quilt and much of the fabric I had purchased over a period of years but it was fun to have it turn out scrappy but gorgeous. It took over a year to assemble the reds, browns and cream fabric and the longer I worked on it the more I felt the suitability of the name, Apple Crisp, as it became a warm and delicious inspiration for the colors and placement of each block. The all over quilting design turned out to be delightfully similar to steam rising from an apple crisp coming out of the oven!

The cutting, final layout and piecing were all done by myself. The pattern was free and named Apple Crisp, and was available online from All People Quilt.

My friend and professional long arm quilter, Cathy Tullos, of the same county I live in, found the perfect quilting design to complete the quilt and add cohesiveness to the design.
