Viva Adelita
Viva Adelita Red Ribbon - Adult
Viva Adelita – Machine appliqué
Pattern adaptation - La Catrina. Jane Tenorio-Coscarelli.
Viva Adelita idea came after watching a movie about the Mexican Revolution of 1910 – 1920. I wanted to showcase the women who often fought right along with the men. Some were leaders of troops, while others worked as spies or brought supplies to the efforts. Some simply traveled with the troops providing housekeeping services.
The Mexican Revolution occurred as a way of ending dictatorship and creating a constitutional republic. The endeavors were successful, and the Constitution of Mexico was written in 1917.
