We Are Stars
White Ribbon - Youth
In this quilt I used 100 percent cotton fabric and thread. My best friend inspired the theme of this quilt as her favorite art piece is Starry Night, and I was captivated by the Pablo Picasso art because he painted stars based on what they felt like, rather than their appearance. Each of the stars are unique and draw from different people in my life-my stars. I had my family members each draw a star, then I created stars from those drawings. Additionally my star is the shooting centerpiece, as I am on the cusp of 18 and excited to launch into my next chapter as I pursue sewing and fashion as a career path.
Once I had all the stars made, I laid out all the pieces artistically and then sewed together row by row.
